TURKISH AIR FORCE COMMANDER

General KADIOĞLU was born in Eskişehir in 1961. After completing elementary, middle, and high schools in Eskişehir, he joined Turkish Air Force Academy in 1978 and graduated as a second lieutenant in 1982.Upon graduating from combat readiness training at 2nd Main Jet Base Flight Training Center and 3rd Main Jet Base, he was assigned to 7th Main Jet Base as a wingman in 1984. Between the years of 1984-1993; he served as a wingman and instructor pilot at the 172nd and 173rd Squadrons at 7th Main Jet Base Command. From 1993 to 1995, he again served as an instructor pilot and operations officer at the 1st Main Jet Base 112th Squadron.In 1997, he graduated from Air War Academy, which he had joined in 1995. The 181st Jet Filo Command, affiliated with the Turkish Air Force Command, completed its deployment to Ämari Air Base in Estonia on July 29, 2026, and carried out area reconnaissance flights on July 30 and 31, 2026, alongside completing planned briefings and preparations.

 

Organized by Estonia on July 31, 2026, the handover ceremony was attended by NATO Representative (HQ AIRCOM Air Command and Control Leader) Colonel Keith D. MCKEE, Estonian Minister of Defense Hanno PEVKUR, Portuguese Minister of National Defense João Nuno de Lacerda Teixeira de MELO, Turkish Representative and Ambassador to Tallinn Başak TÜRKOĞLU, and personnel from the Turkish Air Force Command.


As of August 1, 2026, at 09:00, the 181st Jet Filo Command officially took over the NATO Enhanced Air Policing Block-72 duty. Throughout the mission period, 24/7 scramble alert duty will be maintained, and joint operations will be conducted with NATO and Estonian Air Forces.
